      Ukrainian short track skater Oleh Handei says Olympic officials banned his custom helmet in Milan over a line of Ukrainian poetry: „Where there is heroism, there is no final defeat.“ The International Skating Union classified it as a „political slogan.“ This makes it third such case during 2026 Olympics. Previosly, Vladyslav Heraskevych was barred from wearing his memorial helmet, honoring the memory of Ukrainian athletes killed by Russia. Kateryna Kotsar was banned from wearing her signature „Be Brave Like Ukrainians“ helmet.

      The IOC is just jealous because „Where there is heroism, there is no final defeat.“ is a better slogan than „Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together“, because most athletes will tell you that just competing there is an accolade that you are amongst the best there is. Even if someone else wins gold you are still better than millions of other in your own country and billions on the entire planet.

      I’d argue it’s not politics, but a reminder of humanity. I find it sad that the Olympics will not let athletes express their individual identity and the reality of their lives.

      An expression of hope is not political. Photos of fallen athletes are not politics, but reality.

      At this point all Ukrainian athletes should display either names or photos of killed by russia people on their helmets and Ukraine as a country should formally file the complaint and all other countries should follow the lead of Latvia who has already did this. F*k IOC.

      Back in the days team Xerxes did not get invited to the Olympics.
      But the Greek celebrated the hard earned freedom they won together.

      Perhaps the IOC can move to Moscow and try to win a medal for Putin at the short sprint FPV chase.

      And then the IOC lets murderous Russian athletes compete… I wonder how much money was paid to make this possible, by Russia.
      Remember, Russia had a government doping program at the Sotchi Olympics and invaded Ukraine afterwards. It did the same after the Beijing Olympics with Putins Special Retard Operation.

      Hmm i feel there’s been a bit of a shift. This, the palava over Russian athletes competing under that fake flag, i’m also seeing countries like poland getting into trouble for not allowing russian competitors (i think it was judo and i’ve seen it in regards to another event).

      I usually always follow the Olympics since I was a child.
      Not this time and not this year and for sure not the next one.
      Fuck the IOC and their stance towards Russia!

      Just posted this in other thread, but it’s also a great fit here:

      During German WWII occupation, cinemas in Poland were used a lot to feed propaganda to the people. So, people coined a phrase *“Tylko swinie siedza w kinie“* (only the pigs go to cinema), that was part of resistance movement, painted on the walls, etc.

      I hope that IOC/FIFA events become equally „trendy“.

      They know they are wrong

      Russia should not be even allowed to compete

      They wear white! And no flag!

      So what! That’s noting!

      The crowd will show lots of Russian flags and that will be front page news ,

      Then they will get home with golf medals and not dressed in White but the Russia flag

      So it will go down in history as Russia won X amount of medals in the Olympics .. but they wore white and had a white flag

      How about the raise a white flag in Ukraine and go home!

      Who ever thinks it’s okay for a terror state to be at the Olympics so Putin can show off have a fan fair when they get home & all over SM

      Imagine the number when they leave Ukraine how much that number will rise

      It’s daily terror , It’s a family a mother her children I speakable acts against them and then they are murdered

      Every SINGLE DAY they Hit families in there bed and hospitals and try to freeze the country going on five years from 2022 2023 2024 2025 And now 2026

      They might as well give the Taliban recognition and invite them too & every terror group

      The ONLY difference between them is Russia is a huge state doing it!

      It’s so dark and evil!

      There SHOULD be Ukrainian athletes there today , but they can not be

      Why , they were killed in there home or defending there family and country

      And because you write there name THEY get banned

      It’s so wrong!

      Sorry a bit heated! It’s just these athletes work so hard and are under a full scale war , family members have been killed & friends but they still go and train

      And it gets taken away from the victims

      Not the invaders , but the victims!

      It’s so wrong on so many levels! It just upsets me and I know it does with everyone else here too

      My bad that rant, it’s just hard not to be upset over what they are doing to the victims that are every single Ukrainian is a victim and has lost someone

      Russia should be banned

      And a new bord at the Olympics need to be brought in or EVERY Democrat nation needs to boycott the summer Olympic Games imo
