Russia currently prepares 1000 000 drone pilots to serve in all types of forces: air land and navy they are kids now but in 5 years … we should not sleep too peaxefully, prepare also

*I want to note that there has been ***a lot*** of things said about this exercise that are simply unfounded. NO, this is not what would happen if NATO and Russia ever went to war. This exercise was built around the idea that NATO forces would be going against established drone congestion within the combat zone. That doesn’t just *happen*, and the way drones work in Ukraine won’t be the way that drones work work in a NATO-Russia war. Drone positions in the NATO context aren’t something we’d be seeing. Drones in that context will almost certainly be more mobile and flexible if they want to work in that context (which is **exactly** what NATO is doing, if a little slowly). **They’ve absolutely changed the game**, but the level of drone congestion on a fixed-line in Ukraine isn’t the picture we’d see if Russia made a move on Poland or the Baltics. **Yes**, this exercise granted NATO forces the ability to conduct maneuver warfare that you won’t see in Ukraine. **However**, this kind of situation is unlikely to occur organically on any large scale in a NATO-Russia war.

**The point of this exercise was to test a drone congestion scenario. Therefore, we got a drone congestion scenario. *SHOCK, HORROR!***

**TLDR: Its naïve to believe drones won’t change warfare, its also just as naïve to assume that in a war against NATO, Russia could implement anything similar to their current drone doctrine.**

We all know that these drones either bombers or fpv’s have cancelled rapid large troop movements. It doesn’t matter if you are in a tank or armored vehicle. What has to be done is an effective countermeasure, although I believe that fiber optic ones will be endless from now on but have the disadvantage of a wire. Still, it doesn’t matter how many drone operators you have or how many drones, if the enemy has air dominance you will 100% lose regardless. The problem in Ukraine is that no country has air dominance, both countries still have AA’s and that makes it harder to kill drone operators, it’s hard to detect them too but if you can’t destroy spotter drones I’m sure that these drones operators wouldn’t live for too long either. Russia would lose any war with NATO countries because they will never be able to have air dominance, production, budgets and technology.

Politicians better move fast on funding something to take these cheap drones down otherwise in the near future we will most likely see terrorists or drug cartels or criminals using drones to kill/assassinate whoever, no one is safe as long as some num nuts can make a cheap FPV and smash it in the face of anyone from 30 km away ……

I hate it that my country refuses to acknowledge and integrate drones and adapt new doctrine…the old way of fighting is over.

The US is developing weapons to fry drone circuitry. With an action radius like that of a shotgun. Drones will not be that big of a deal for the US and I expect the weapon philosophy to trickle into NATO armies.

    7. in Estonia you can also take part of a drone training as a civilian where you learn to train „nades “ from drones. I took part of it, it was really cool and very informative. We flew regural DJI drones, did nade dropping from drones, flew in war simulators with fpvs, they showed us the FPVS etc. I would like to learn more of drones now.

Ukrainian army is one of the most experienced armies in the entire planet now. I don’t know why people underrating them against many reserve forces. Many countries didn’t even have recent war experience.
