  1. The human-to-human transmission cannot be as unlikely as people say it is if this is what’s happening. What, was the flight attendant hugging and kissing the infected? Were they sitting right next to them for extended periods of time?

    If not, that’s pretty contagious.

  2. How fucking stupid are everyone on that ship. Just fucking wandering the earth after knowing they’ve been on a cruise with a highly infectious disease. Fucking selfish bastards. The ship should not be allowed to dock until they are aware of how easily this can spread. The passengers shouldn’t be going noway near anyone, infected or not infected. Absolute moronic.

The flight attendant might not have this virus and is being tested still. Hopefully it’s just an abundance of caution and a simple cold. We shall see soon I suppose

  4. This happened all before the passanger got diagnosed with the virus, we didn’t know then. No need to be angry with these people.

this doesn’t seem to gel with what’s going on right now. the speed of transmission seems faster. what is going on right now? time for a run to the supermarket for hand sanitizer and loo paper or too soon?

    >According to the RIVM, the time between a hantavirus infection and the first symptoms showing can range from a few days to up to 60 days. On average, it takes two to four weeks for symptoms to start showing.

When this makes landfall in the U.S., you will be able to hear Champaign bottles popping in Beijing and Moscow.

A flight attendant. Who greats people & hand out snacks all day for two weeks between beeing in contact and getting hospitalized.

Wait where are all the people who said „only close intimate contact“ will lead to infections?

Honestly you can fuck right off. Clearly this is spreading more than that

  10. I miss when all the experts would come into Reddit threads and tell us what’s what with the science.

Now all the same old quips get upvoted. If this were a real worrisome event (this isn’t), where would you turn to for solid info?

  11. So glad we have a capable president to deal with a possible worldwide pandemic again.

I thought all hanta virus except the Andes strain were not capable of human transmission. Does this mean the Andes strain has jumped continents, or that a different strain has mutated?
