That’s a train horn.
This is actually a well-known issue in this part of Warsaw.
It’s related to Pesa Dart trains parked at the PKP Intercity depot in Olszynka Grochowska their fire alarm systems sometimes randomly go off in the middle of the night.
The article about it is already a few years old, but the problem still comes back from time to time.
The noise is extremely loud and can carry across large areas — usually it affects places like Grochów or Gocław, but last night it was on another level.
It was noticeably louder than usual and could be heard even in areas where it normally isn’t.
