According to Russian sources, about 105 drones, 15 jet UAVs and 5 balloons were declared, but these calculations, along with the routes, are extremely speculative.

I’m not so active in the topic lately, so I missed everything concerning balloons. I’ve heard Russia tried to mitigate the effect of the starlink deactivation by establishing a balloon based mobile network, with little success because of west winds pushing the balloons back to Russia. But I’ve never heard about Ukraine using balloons in an offensive manner. Can someone please give me a quick overview over the 2026 balloon warfare technology, strategy and goals in Ukraine?
