Cover page states 18,092 foreign nationals in Russian army, but then the by-country breakdown claims there are more than that number from Estonia and Latvia alone. The (suspiciously precise and neatly rounded) numbers on that latter page add up to more than 80,000 foreign fighters solely from European countries.
I’m willing to believe there are plenty of gullible fools and deranged fanatics in Western countries who would willingly sign up to fight in the Russian army, but I don’t find this document credible.
Any statistics on the breakdown of foreign fighters by country?
