Small squares say: Place For Your Phone. Big rectangle in the middle is too blurry to read but last word is: forbidden.

Looks like this is an old video from the times when RU were using UA SIM cards, which led to a lot of OPSEC fuck ups, and many infamous call intercepts…

They might accidentally connect to the real Internet. User might see the truth.

    5. No starlink – no telegram. RuZZian MAX propaganda and tracking app only. So, it’s useless. Might as well use it for wallpaper.

Maybe they’re trying to improve the reception by adding an external antenna…./s

    7. Most likely, this is a military (training) unit of conscripted service. Free use of telephones is prohibited there; telephones must be handed over for safekeeping and returned with the permission of an officer during free and permitted time. In other words, these are not soldiers fighting under contract, but young men drafted into the army.

If you are caught with a phone, it will be confiscated and smashed as a warning. This is prohibited by law, explained as a measure against espionage, and applies to military service.

Come-on! Just hit the nail a bit lower and perforate the lithium ion cell please!

    10. I’ve seen this happen in Afghanistan in a US headquarters about 15 years back. Bring a personal electronic device into a secure area? Sgt Maj nails it to the wall just outside the entrance. Makes the point to people!

Russians have been doing that for years, even before the Nazi invasion of Ukraine.

    12. This same thing happens in Ukraine too btw

Source: an acquaintance was mobilised and told some stories

    13. OPSEC. Shorthand for Operations Security.

Phones are constantly pinging for nearby cellular towers. The pings are somewhat traceable with the right Electronical Warfare suites.
Calling or texting on the other hand is a dead giveaway.

Traceable locations are prime targets for either artillery fire or drone attacks.
