The only comfort is that plenty of people who voted for this will reap the consequences of their votes. Earlier this morning, while using the search feature, Michael Wolff appeared immediately after typing just “MI”. Now I have to search for his full name, which takes longer. It seems like anything related to Michael Wolff is hidden in my feed. Usually, YouTube’s algorithm includes his videos and related content since I watch the Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head. A few hours ago, my feed showed videos about Michael Wolff, who has appeared on several independent news networks to explain this legal situation. I can no longer see those. I can’t find the trending results for „Michael Wolff sues Melania Trump“ in the search feature. I have to use the filter by upload date, which adds extra steps. When I searched for his name earlier, new interviews appeared, not just Daily Beast videos, as they do now. These recent changes suggest that the YouTube team had to work quickly to implement filtered keywords and other tools to make this topic harder to find.
