      Recuse himself from being PM. If he is unable to do the entirety of the job, he shouldn’t be doing the job at all.

      Given that Brookfield is involved with pretty much everything Carney gonna have a lot of free time on his hands.

      I don’t think PM Carney should have said this. The trust is blind. Theoretically he should not know what’s in it and therefore wouldn’t know when to step back.

      Now the CPC is running with all the sectors Brookfield works in — transportation, housing etc.—to say that PM Carney can’t do the job. It a bad faith argument, that sadly, was handed to them.

      This is the same problem with Musk. You can’t be your own judge and decide whether or not something is a conflict of interest to your own self. That itself, is a conflict of interest.

      The BAM options need to be exercised (or sold) and then divested from. I think its pretty clear we can’t have a PM with direct financial interests to Brookfield as they’re one of the largest companies in the country and, by the nature of the company, are benefited directly or indirectly by like half of the portfolios of cabinet.

      This is going to be a consistent election issue that he needs to get ahead of.

      I don’t see an issue of this at all. PP supporters wasting all their life trying to dig shits. Setting up a screen to avoid conflict of interest sounds perfect for any politician. Maybe PP should do the same???

      Wasn’t he trying to push Trudeau to let Brookfield manage massive amounts of government assets?

      So he’s just going to recuse himself from half his job?

      So pretty much everything. Lets see Brookfield owns green energy,pipelines,housing,commercial real estate,government consulting,infrastructure building. Is heavily involved it China, Qatar,USA . Thats off the top of my head I am sure there is much more, probably even military

      He has put things in a blind trust, which is to be expected of anyone in his position. Expecting anyone to liquidate all their assets is silly unfortunately.

      There will always be biases no matter who is in govt. I don’t really get why this is being pushed so much when he has already taken the steps he is supposed too.
