The military and all of federal law enforcement getting illegally paid through some mystery fund makes sure that this will be extended way past the current record.
Day 16 of the Republican’s incompetence at running the country.
ATC has the power to end this today by just calling in sick, just like the last shutdown.
The day ATC realizes this is the day this current shutdown ends
Nearly halfway there! Trump loves his government shut downs. I bet this one will be his last record of failure
I swear republicans have memory worse than a goldfish. They complain that dems are holding out for healthcare funding and are wanting to „add more to the debt“. Motherfuckers.. republicans increased the debt by TRILLIONS just a few months ago to make ICE a second army and to give billionaires more tax breaks. I am so over these absolute morons
A key part of how Trump was able to swindle so many politically unaware people was how willing he was to take credit for every remotely good thing, or push blame for every bad thing, and just stick to that point, regardless of how ridiculous it sounded. By never relenting on his lies, the people who simply take things they hear at face value just believed him.
For example, take his statement on ending wars. He took the truth of the US being at least partially involved in international negotiations in 8 conflicts, called every conflict a war, called every instance of fighting not breaking out the war ending, inflated the US’s role to sound like the sole negotiator every time, and stole credit from all the US negotiators and diplomats.
That’s how he was able to turn „The US was at least partially involved in diplomatic talks between nations in 8 separate instances“ into „I ended 8 wars“. Him being a shameless credit-hogging liar spoke to all the people who want politics to be more simple than it is. They voted for the guy who said he alone could fix everything because it would be so much more convenient if he was telling the truth.
Saw an article saying this is costing the American economy 15 b a day. Not exactly chump change.
Oh this is fun… an „imminent risk“ vulnerability (which is the highest level of risk) was discovered on a hardware provider that is part of the backbone of the internet (F5’s BIG-IP hardware, which are traffic management operation systems). And [the head of CISA is blaming Democrats for it because of the government shutdown](https://www.theregister.com/2025/10/15/cisa_blames_nationstate_hackers_democrats/).
Even though the attack that appears to have led to the exposure of the vulnerability was detected by Google ***almost a year ago***.
TL;DR: the Trump appointed head of CISA is injecting politics into cybersecurity.
