I’d think it is related to the ending of the country name: vowel, consonant, .. Chinan sounds good actually.
I don’t think this is right French Guyana wouldn’t be different from France and in central Asia it doesn’t end in a I like Pakistani you would say Kazakh or Uzbek or Tajik.
In English*
Next time you remake it change the godawful green on the legend.
Thanks 🙂
Suffix for „India“ is „an“ not „ian“ or „ean“, unless you’re talking about „Bharat“ when it’ll be „i“ or „iya“. So basically, red, yellow or white, not orange.
Can’t you also have Nepali?
you should’ve shaded Saudi with orange since it can go both ways Saud(i)/Saudi Arab(ian)
Isn’t it Greenlandish?
And Saudi is Ok, but what about Saudi Arabian?
Isn’t Madagascar Malagasy?
Aside from that this is really cool! I don’t know phonetics though so I don’t know what stem means. 😭
For Central Asia, it is a bit complicated.
As a general rule, all five of the ex-Soviet ones have both the shortened version of the stem alongside an -i ending. This is used to distinguish ethnic Kazakhs and Kyrgyz from ethnic Russians and Uzbeks from those countries who are Kazakhstanis and Kyrgyzstanis. In practice, it is mainly just used for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and sometimes Uzbekistan as they are more diverse than Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
This map got Afghan for Afghanistan right. „Afghani“ is incorrect, and considered somewhat offensive. Afghan is right. While for Pakistan, Paki is offensive and Pakistani is correct.
probably made even more mistakes I haven’t noticed
America +n = American
India + n = Indian.
Not sure why you have added the extra vowels to their suffixes
