    1. These announcers often get married to sport stars or ceos or ibankers, saying 20m is quite modest for them.

Considering her looks and what I assume to be a successful career, I think she has every right to be picky.

I mean アナs are the cream of the crop when it comes to a possible wife and a lot of athletes/actors go for them

This is your standard morning show. It would be boring if everyone just gave realistic answers

They’re questioning her „financial sense“ for wanting to marry somebody rich, well she is in a career field with a very clear upper limit with regards to age? Sounds like pretty good sense to me, or at least practical.

Man: “Will you get into bed with me for a million pounds?”

      Woman: “Why, yes of course!”

Man: “And how about a hundred pounds?”

Woman: “Never! What kind of woman do you take me for?”

“We have already established what kind of woman you are and now we are negotiating a price.”

      -Winston Churchill

    7. It’s not her financial sense that is lacking. The online crowd is just pissed because they are excluded.

How much do you think is her own income? It’s totally normal to want a partner whose income is slightly above yours

    9. Unlikely-Sympathy626 on

I guess the girl realized she wants a baby and an atm as time running out…

Pity she is not that beautiful. I see many more hot women in my local area than that. Even my partner is way better looking.

Pretty daft having below average face demanding that. Way more pretty women in Kyushu that actually are not money hungry like that.

    10. If money is important to her, why should a famous person should compare her goals to averages?

      She clearly can aim higher.

It’s the internet. It’s genuinely not that bad considering influencers in western media think 200k is a basic salary online

    12. People are free to want what they want. If I were a rich man, I wouldn’t want to be with a woman who sees this as an important factor. And that’s also allowed.

    13. huy_lonewolf on

That level of income is not that high for Americans though. Maybe she is signaling that she is willing to consider foreigners?

Lol you can’t even be a golddigger in peace in this economy anymore

    15. Japan has truly fallen off if this is a problem.

That’s not even that much money… There is a scandal going on in my country because of doctors making way too much money and the numbers are like 400k$ for a doctor working in bumfuck nowhere.

Why does somebody else’s salary, her husband earns her desired income, and she’s allowed to be selective about her ideal spouse.

    17. CombinationEntire967 on

Lol, compared to a spoiled non-famous ugly women in the US wanting a husband with a minimum of $650k/year, she is quite modest.

    18. RubberDuck404 on

I never understood why people with high (or even ludicrous) expectations bother people so much. No one is forcing you to date her even if you think she asks for too much, it’s her problem.

If those figures are correct, I could retire very comfortably in Japan if i could figure out how to get a visa…

    20. ActPositively on

Uglier women with worse jobs, not famous and less options often expect the same if not more. So that’s honestly quite modest for someone in her position

    21. worldwidetrav on

I moved to Japan last year but I was single in the US making quite a bit more money in a tier 1 city. I wanted to marry/date outside this circle but I was constantly pushed to date these types of women for my “brand”. She’ll marry someone and fall in life so she can keep up appearances. The man will have a decent hope but he’ll be able to cheat every so often.

It’s not about love but more so it’s a business decision.

That’s a celebrity (presenter and former idol), of course she won’t be married to a normal person .

    23. Comfortable-Rock4349 on

Maybe people don’t realise that although 20M yen seem a lot but , there are folks who earn in that range , especially those working in STEM. And she’s a TV announcer she’s not aiming for an average guy

    24. domesticstudent on

This seems somewhat reasonable especially given that she’s a celebrity and probably is a relatively high earner herself. She probably wouldn’t be marrying an average income earner in the first place.

    25. True-Loquat6061 on

Lol this entire thread is low earners justifying being low earners. I work a mediocre tech job in a LCOL Canadian city and make 110k USD. Might be high for Japan but there are thousands of millionaires there as well.

    26. From the infos I got, she was just joking when the host from a show aws asking her if she was only willing to marry people earning 100 Millions and she laughed back saying that 20 Millions is enough.
This title is making her looking bad but many comments here are incredibly judgemental and feels like they were personaly rejected lol

    27. TechAndAccessoriesz on

Holy balls. I didn’t know that the average income in Japan was only $29,321. Guess the grass isn’t greener on the other side at times.
