Considering her looks and what I assume to be a successful career, I think she has every right to be picky.

I moved to Japan last year but I was single in the US making quite a bit more money in a tier 1 city. I wanted to marry/date outside this circle but I was constantly pushed to date these types of women for my “brand”. She’ll marry someone and fall in life so she can keep up appearances. The man will have a decent hope but he’ll be able to cheat every so often.
It’s not about love but more so it’s a business decision.

Lol this entire thread is low earners justifying being low earners. I work a mediocre tech job in a LCOL Canadian city and make 110k USD. Might be high for Japan but there are thousands of millionaires there as well.
From the infos I got, she was just joking when the host from a show aws asking her if she was only willing to marry people earning 100 Millions and she laughed back saying that 20 Millions is enough.
