In Austrian German we have Fisolen. A kind of green bean / string beans.

      „Normal“ beans are Bohnen.

Fisolen are cooked in a sour cream based sauce. The it is called Rahmfisolen.

      Personally I hate it.

    2. Incorrect for Sweden, ” beans” is plural. Plural for ” beans” in the Swedish language is ” bönor”.

In Spanish in Spain, depending on the region we say alubia, judía, or habichuela.

    4. Lithuanian an one is actually „pupa“ for single and „pupos“ for plural

    5. It’s more complicated in Ukrainian (and many other languages I assume). The common bean that was brought from the Americas is indeed „kvasolia“, but the broad/fava bean that was cultivated before is „bib“ (cognate with Bulgarian „bob“). „Bib“ is also the generic scientific name for all beans, and the derived „bobovi“ means legumes.

    6. Haricot in French is a green bean. Bean as in baked beans is fève, which brings it closer to the blue countries.

In Lithuanian beans are „pupos“ . „Papu“ or „papas“ is „boob“. This is some crappy AI post

    9. incorrect for catalan, fava (Haba in spanish) is not the general name for bean. beans is mongetes / Fésols ( fancy 19th century name, not used a lot ). Faves (habas) are what the germans call puffbohnen, a special kind of beans with individual, thick coats/skin. 10. In Latvian we don’t say „papu“ , the correct is „pupas“ or „pupiņas“

In Armenia it is LOBI, which doesn’t seem to be found anywhere else on this map or even remotely close. Anyone know where it comes from

    12. Georgia would be red like Spain! The word is “lobio” from Ancient Greek through Persian or Arabic
