I’m still getting a chuckle out of Trump trying to read Xi’s notebook when he got up at a meal. “Ah, just as I suspected, this is all in Chinese. I think Xi might be Chinese!”

This should be standard operating procedure for anyone traveling to/from China, but doubly so for anyone in government or working for any business that isn’t a restaurant or some other low importance business.
Same for anyone of even remote importance visiting the US.

This has been a rule for a long time. If you were taking things into China in 2006, it was assumed it was being copied and or bugged.
Edit: things I meant electronics.

Giant plane from Quatar though? Nope, nah, that one can stay. We totally got that one figured out. No way anyone could hide something in an incredibly complex gilded flying machine. Super okay for the president of the united states to use.

As for the giant plane from Quatar they took a year to go through every part of that plane to supposedly make sure it security safe but we have ineffective security personnel so they are flying in a giant listening device and probably a giant flying bomb considering you can make C-4 look or be anything and all it takes is the right frequency to cause the explosion 💥. The people from Quatar did not give that plane to Trump out of the kindness of their hearts and anyone who thinks that way is going to probably suffer a problem in life because what looks like a honey trap and smells like a honey trap and quacks like a honey trap is most likely a honey trap and should have been treated as such, that plane should have been flown to the most isolated location we have parked on the end of a non-operational runway and left there to rot. We should never had spent millions or billions of tax payer dollars on a honey trap.

My former employer didn’t allow us to take our regular phones/laptops to China — they gave us loaner ones with different credentials and disabled ports. And if those devices were ever out of our sight*, we were not allowed to use them at all.
