Long Island (einschließlich Brooklyn und Queens, die Teil der angrenzenden Insel selbst sind), Manhattan, Staten Island … technisch gesehen Riker’s Island usw.
I’m part of a cool writing community related to this. Basically, the continents disappear and only the islands survive. The remnants of New York City take control over the other islands and establishes a new republic, while Hawaii does its own thing.

Including the 424 people who live on [Fishers Island](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fishers_Island,_New_York), which is geographically and economically closer to Connecticut (it has a Connecticut zip code and the only ferry route to there starts in New London)…and yet is politically in New York.

I want to make a joke about how Long Island is a peninsula but i don’t think the humor would be received.

It’s three islands. Manhattan, Staten and Long.
Hawaii is still notable in this regard because most people live on *one* island
100% of Rhode Island residents live in Rhode Island.
I remember when DistrictBuilder was still online. Made a few good maps on that site. It was neat
