    I’m part of a cool writing community related to this. Basically, the continents disappear and only the islands survive. The remnants of New York City take control over the other islands and establishes a new republic, while Hawaii does its own thing.

    Not a state but in Quebec 22% of the population lives on the island of Montreal.

    Technically a vast majority of people within the United States live on the massive „island“ of America.
