  1. *I realize that the reflex is to put this in the „no shit sherlock“ category and dismiss it; But it goes on and on, on both sides, and here we are. War crimes aside, because bombing a country and its civilian population into oblivion is a war crime, you cannot win a war without boots on the ground and even then, it is never as easy as amateurs like trump and Hegseth think it will be.*

„Alexus Grynkewich, the top commander of U.S. forces in Europe, testified in Congress on Thursday.“

„The highest ranking U.S. commander in Europe told Congress what has been obvious for decades—that bombing civilians is an evil and inhumane tactic that only leads to more long-term problems.“

“What I’ve observed over the course of studying air power in history is that any time you attack a civilian population, you usually end up finding that it just hardens their resolve,” Air Force General Alexus Grynkewich [told](https://x.com/atrupar/status/2032123095876558957) the Senate Armed Services Committee at a Thursday hearing regarding Russian assistance to Iran. “We take this all the way back to the London Blitz in World War II. The Brits just had a stiff upper lip and kept on fighting, and I think that’s what we’ve seen in Ukraine as well.”

„While Grynkewich was referring to Russia’s bombing campaign in Ukraine, his statement could be applied to any American act of aggression over the past 20-plus years, from the Iraq war, to U.S. support of Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, to the Iranian elementary school bombing that killed more than 100 children.“

„Hundreds of Iranian civilians have died in the ongoing war. The same administrations that chastise Iran for chanting “death to America” are the same ones with no qualms about using American weaponry to kill hundreds of normal people just trying to lead normal lives. If anything, their killings will only lead to further anti-American sentiment and radicalization. You don’t need to be some scholar of military history to recognize that.“

Imagine that, killing a populace’s babies makes them hate you more than anything else in the universe… and also most people want to live and will fight tooth and nail for that even if they’re terrified.

Did the dear general tell this to his friends over in Israel for the last two years?

Who would gave guessed that taking out 160 of their kids would make them mad?

They didn’t bomb the school on purpose. Why has the government not apologised?

    In general, yes.

But I can provide 2 examples where it ended a World War.

Not that Id agree with that solution now.

The only successful bombing of civilians I can think of is Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but Japan had already been trying to surrender with terms beforehand.

All other bombing raids do Jack shit to a civilian population except harden their resolve. Targeting military targets works to cripple the military, especially to cripple military responses.

*But it might work for us!*

„Being evil always seems to turn out badly for some reason.“ Ok buddy US government. Thanks for the insight; you would know.

  10. Only in a civilized society. For instance, Putin never faces consequences.

(And before you say, „You don’t think Russia is civilized?“, I think Putin’s regime is uncivilized.)

  11. I don’t think Trump cares. Dictators, even wannabe dictators, usually have any lack of interest in civilians aside from what said civilians can do for them.

It backfires for the American public. It doesn’t backfire for the oligarchs.

Was testimony really required? Outside of President Pedophile amd his team of sychofants, who else thinks killing civilians is good?
