Italy has no point in being red and so noticeable; it should be either Spain or Portugal

Is it also pronounced with a „sh“ in Luxembourg or does it have no data? I’m not sure if it and Portugal have the same shade of grey. Also I believe Luxembourgish has a „ks“ sound there, ar leadt according to wiki

Spanish from Spain (Castellano) writes it México, but pronounces Méjico ( like if it was an H). other spanish languages might vary.
Same with Texas / Tejas. We even call denim pants Tejanos.

Btw, in Russian we have: country with ks/кс (Мексика), and city with h/х (Мехико). As you can see, the ending is also different ¯_(ツ)_/¯

As far as I understand, the older, arguably more correct pronunciation is “Meshico” (like the people the Mexicas (Pronounced “Meshicas”).
You have to consider the spelling with X might have come from Catalan or Valenciano (not Castillian), where the X is often used for “sh” sounds.
So the Italians are just Old-School, but maybe closer to historically correct.
Since it’s not true for Estonia, I’m doubtful of the correctness of this map.
In Estonian it’s „Mehhiko“.
