Not to reduce this to manga terms, but can we skip the ICE arc already and go straight to Impeachment From Office arc

  2. Can’t wait till this happens to someone who was just walking by. Not that either is excusable.

  3. >“…DHS runs both the surveillance and the program, and being ‘under investigation’ can be enough to lose your trusted traveler status even if protesting itself cannot legally be a disqualifier.”

Here’s more lawsuits we’ll be paying for the next decade. Blue states will of course be subsidizing MAGA’s culpability.

And democrats are saying that “no masks” and “more training” is the way to go, god it’s so fucking pathetic.

Remember when dems used to campaign on “dreamers” and a path to citizenship? Then dipshit consultants told them that “brat summer” and “67” were the way to go. Absolutely pathetic

What else can this app do? That’s the scary part, if protesting somewhere and they can access PreCheck at TSA and get that canceled. What else can the software do? This is really concerning on a privacy standpoint?

Should people be allowed to peacefully protest without facing repercussions from the government?

Next they will take guns away from anybody on the ice “domestic terrorist” list.

  7. Why is the story so low down in the article? ICE concerns are top of public interest right now. Weird newspaper

Between this, the air traffic controller shortage, and all the collisions we’ve seen this past year, I ain’t flying anywhere.

  9. The US is apparently rolling out it’s version of the Chinese social credit system. guilty until proven innocent because why would government agents distrust you for no reason?

  10. Interesting.

I wonder if there is a possibility the admin would take away citizens‘ passports for something similar.

Not to be conspiratorial, but if the long game is to disenfranchise democratic party voters, SAVE act provides a way for how.

You need a passport to vote, but DOS will strip your passport for xyz reason.

  11. Document everything and sue everyone involved. Lawyers are having a field day with this administration.

TSA should be ended just like ICE. If an agency wants to violate the constitution then remove it completely.

WARNING: I.C.E. is extremely slippery and dangerous and has been proven to be very unsafe and or potentially hazardous or even lethal to the public. I.C.E. is clearly a threat to public safety so please protest safely.

If she wasn’t committing a crime or supporting terrorists, this is unconstitutional.

She’s gonna win a big lawsuit.

This is why the “it’s fine to have public surveillance on you all the time as long as you aren’t doing anything wrong” people are isiots

  16. So I saw this somewhere on Instagram, but don’t quote me because I don’t remember who said this, and my memory is kind of fuzzy so certain specifics may not be precise

But someone on Instagram said they had this same experience, where TSA Precheck was taken away from them after their face was captured at an anti-ICE protest

Some of the commenters said that years ago, there was a journalist (I think) who had the same experience, and a DHS spokesperson said that __whenever someone is placed under investigation, their Trusted Traveler memberships are revoked automatically__

This does not mean they actually have to be criminally charged, ever. This doesn’t mean they have to be arrested ever. This doesn’t mean they have a criminal record or anything like that. As soon as DHS determines that you’re „under investigation“, things like TSA Precheck are taken away automatically

Oh and also, the original poster on Instagram also said that State Department employees were unable to find any record of her having a passport, despite having had one. She was allowed to apply for a new one, but still, keep this in mind

That is such a weird article. It’s mainly about a new type of plane and a flight route. Then randomly thrown in the middle is the bit about the woman. It seems like an afterthought they just threw in the article.

The real story here is that literally every other developed country already has processes like TSA Pre and Global Entry *for everyone* and here we are begging for the privilege like it’s some sort of novel luxury

What would happen if your passport was disappeared while you were traveling? Or your drivers license?

  20. I’d happily pay if the money was used on a team of accountants to audit the county and lawyers to prosecute the fuck out of the fraud.

  21. hopefully a lawfirm will take her case. she is being punished for protected speech without due process of law

  22. Get ready for all those totally “optional” and “only to verify ID” TSA face scans at the airport to start booting dissenters out of the line.

  23. Maleficent_Pie8099 on

Oh no, not the TSA precheck. That part was idiotic, everything else about ICE is disgusting. Abolish ICE, justice will be served.

Social credit system is here! Enjoy your „papers please“ society, America!

    Republicans call Democrats communists.

Republicans love a President who introduces Chinese style government tracked social credit scores.

  26. There’s something hilarious about ICE having a mobile app. Is it the paid version of Grindr?
