      What else can this app do? That’s the scary part, if protesting somewhere and they can access PreCheck at TSA and get that canceled. What else can the software do? This is really concerning on a privacy standpoint?

      Should people be allowed to peacefully protest without facing repercussions from the government?

      The US is apparently rolling out it’s version of the Chinese social credit system. guilty until proven innocent because why would government agents distrust you for no reason?

      I wonder if there is a possibility the admin would take away citizens‘ passports for something similar.

      Not to be conspiratorial, but if the long game is to disenfranchise democratic party voters, SAVE act provides a way for how.

      You need a passport to vote, but DOS will strip your passport for xyz reason.

      WARNING: I.C.E. is extremely slippery and dangerous and has been proven to be very unsafe and or potentially hazardous or even lethal to the public. I.C.E. is clearly a threat to public safety so please protest safely.

      So I saw this somewhere on Instagram, but don’t quote me because I don’t remember who said this, and my memory is kind of fuzzy so certain specifics may not be precise

      But someone on Instagram said they had this same experience, where TSA Precheck was taken away from them after their face was captured at an anti-ICE protest

      Some of the commenters said that years ago, there was a journalist (I think) who had the same experience, and a DHS spokesperson said that __whenever someone is placed under investigation, their Trusted Traveler memberships are revoked automatically__

      This does not mean they actually have to be criminally charged, ever. This doesn’t mean they have to be arrested ever. This doesn’t mean they have a criminal record or anything like that. As soon as DHS determines that you’re „under investigation“, things like TSA Precheck are taken away automatically

      Oh and also, the original poster on Instagram also said that State Department employees were unable to find any record of her having a passport, despite having had one. She was allowed to apply for a new one, but still, keep this in mind

      That is such a weird article. It’s mainly about a new type of plane and a flight route. Then randomly thrown in the middle is the bit about the woman. It seems like an afterthought they just threw in the article.

      The real story here is that literally every other developed country already has processes like TSA Pre and Global Entry *for everyone* and here we are begging for the privilege like it’s some sort of novel luxury
