It was a great move by the FCA to mandate that all bitcoin ETPs offered in the UK be fully physically backed, and good to see more of them on the market from big names. Shame they then fucked it up by removing the ability to hold these ETPs in a regular stocks and shares ISA (as of April 2026), so my dreams of tax-free bitcoin investing are still just dreams. Nobody I’ve heard of actually offers an „Innovative Finance ISA“ that you can hold bitcoin ETNs in after April, and none of the main investing platforms are planning on offering them.

honestly this is pretty solid for mainstream adoption. gold bugs can dip their toes into BTC without fully committing and vice versa. LSE listing gives it that legitimacy traditional finance people need before they touch anything crypto related. fees gonna be the real deciding factor tho
