Fuck Musk and his alt-right agenda. We pretend that everything should be treated with an equal hand, but this shouldn’t be. He is a racist, through and through.

  2. good.

many millions upon millions of people are better off now that theyre off that shit heap platform. . . . the more the merrier

    fascist cunt

    >US vice president says EU should not be ‘attacking American companies over garbage.’

At least he’s acknowledging that X, formerly known as Twitter, is garbage.

Just fk ban X in EU. Musk is using the platform to promote his own agenda. There are no such transparency or free speech.

  5. I don’t know what this moderation fine is about specifically, 120m seems like nothing at this scale.

But it fucking blows my mind that –> trillion <– dollar companies, who earn the majority of their money on ads, are freely showing porn ads to children, promoting scams to seniors, etc. etc. etc., without any liability whatsoever.

    # FUCKING MODERATE THAT

The idea of the EU having strong anti-monopoly laws is great, until the US just doesn’t give a single fuck about it at all, and we don’t hard-ban their monopolies from accessing the EU market before they’ve bought up literally everything. Now we get to suffer all the consequences of monopolies without the benefit of them feigning to pay tax in our countries, lmao.

  6. This is good news. Let Musk pull X out of countries that have actual standards for communication and aren’t interested in enriching billionaires to spread AI sludge and propaganda

It should be 120 Billion, EU doing its best to posture as usual without actually hitting them where it might hurt.

Well now he will help rig your election, so he can put someone in charge to get rid of the fine.

Oh, yes, *this* is what is causing issues with EU-US relations.

Not the senile dumbass in the white House putting tariffs on everyone and undermining NATO and sucking up to Russia. It’s the fine against Twitter.

  10. How does this strain ties with the US?

Who in the US (aside from X owners) is taking it personally when another country fines this random company 0.29% of its worth after it was found guilty of breaking EU laws? Who cares? The EU is simply maintaining law and order in Europe.

If anything, we should care more that an American company is giving the US a bad reputation in the EU with its unlawful, unethical conduct and practices. It’s embarrassing that they acted so badly that they’ve been fined €120,000,000.

  11. That’s a healthy sounding fine, but they have a billion in reserves, so how much is that really going to affect them?

    I’d wager it’s too little.

I’d like to appeal to Elon Musk

Please Elon, don’t back down in the face of this, please keep Twitter turned on and serving the EU. We really need it because its such a valuable source of informed comment and insight, and helps us understand the world and each other so much more clearly. We’d all be truly lost without Twitter’s algorithm serving us your own personal thoughts to guide us through the world. Our lives will be so meaningless without Twitter to enrich us, so I’m fairly confident that you wouldn’t say ’no more Twitter‘ for Europe, but if you feel you have no choice but to teach us a lesson and punish us, and remove it, then we understand
