      Sometimes you look at Emmanuel Macron and think, okay, maybe he actually knows what he’s doing, has some kind of plan. Then you read this news and go, is this a joke?

      China picked Russia a long time ago, and there’s zero reason for it to help Europe. And that’s not even counting the fact that China still hasn’t given up on Taiwan.

      Lol EU only you guys can save Ukraine. USA is down for another 3 years at least. Ya gotta up that defense budget and send it to Ukraine.

      How does Macron not understand that China wants Russia in Ukraine?

      It gives them a precedent to invade Taiwan. They get to test out their equipment and tactics before invading Taiwan. They get to fatigue Taiwan’s ally’s citizens towards the concept of military aid to foreign countries. Russia continuing the invasion also expends NATO resources that require Chinese-sourced rare earth minerals to replace.

      The only downside for China is that Russia produces 20% of their oil. Worst-case scenario for them if Ukraine wins is Ukraine-controlled Russia also sells China their oil because everyone needs access to China’s rare earth minerals. Every other outcome is status quo for them.

      Why Macron still so much believe in Xi. It’s clear that Xi is now owner of both pootin and trump. But, why on earth, having such puppets in his hands would do anything good for anyone

      He’s been asking for the same thing for more than three years. If China wanted to help they would have. France doesn’t have anything enticing enough to pull them away from their resource-rich vassal.
