this gov shutdown’s jus takin us down a rabbit hole of bigger probs. It’s not about budget or policy anymore, it’s about ego and stubbornness.
If there’s anything to be accomplished from the protests today, it’s to encourage ATC to call in sick to end this shutdown.
The protests may not get anything done, but ATC calling in sick will do wonders
Maybe someone has already used this metaphor, but what Trump, et al., are doing is like strip mining in coal; yes, they are removing things they want, but in doing so are doing long lasting damage to the political environment.
