Yes, it is a good time. And it’s a good time to remind ourselves of the children who have died, and random people in shopping centers, schools, parades, games, sitting in their homes, etc etc. America…stop the violence!

    2. tinfoilhataliens on

We found the person who killed them and nobody wanted political violence against those two. Idk why anyone is acting as though anyone dismissed their importance

Love the idea behind this, but why did the author call Representative Hortman „Melissa“ (Melissa and Mark were shot vs Senator Hoffman). Weird.

In the mind of MAGA the Dems had it coming by supporting an evil ideology. Made fun of it. Kirk on the other hand was one of the Trump anointed MAGA prophets, practically a saint. The behavior of MAGA world can only be understood in the context of religious fervor and fanaticism

    5. Ive heard pastors give sermons or at least mentions to Kirk

Conservatives are pretending to mourn him endlessly.

Yet when Dems basically don’t care they throw a fit..

      Pedophiles are weird man

    6. Not lowering the flags for school shootings is fair enough. Only because there are so many at this point that it would be up and down twice a day. But not lowering it for democratic lawmakers is just disgusting

    7. Savior-_-Self on

Not just that they weep for Kirk and laugh at attacks on the Left – but let’s remember that Charlie was a hateful antivaxx „personality“ and they were duly *elected* democratic lawmakers.

That sounds about right for the life of me I will never understand why we took another chance with this guy

the conservative sub proceeds to cover their ears and sing la la la, conveniently ignoring this

They want all liberals locked up or worse.  Dont kid yourself into thinking anything else.  Look at their response and words before any shooter was even apprehended.

    11. school shooting and assasinating somebody just for expressing his opinion is something totally different.

    12. The double standard is a large portion of the Reddit base openly celebrating Kirk’s assassination

You didn’t see anything remotely like that when the MN lawmakers were killed

    13. nosotros_road_sodium on

I agree the double standard is incredibly ridiculous. I also dislike „people are saying“, „everyone is talking about“, and „why isn’t anyone doing…“ type of clickbait.

However, „[everybody’s talking all this stuff about me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cDLZqe735k)“ was a banger in ’89.

    14. Hey Charlie, how many flags were lowered for left wing politician’s deaths?

      „Too many“

    15. LonestarrRasberry on

As someone on the right I think this is a fair point. I don’t think the Democratic lawmakers were nearly as influential/known Nationally as Kirk, and they weren’t shot in front of 30,000 college students in a livestreamed event, but it was still tragic and big news. Flags should have been lowered for both.

For anyone confused here it is fair to point out the distinction the White House did lower flags at White House and many federal buildings, after MN lawmakers were killed, but just not ordered as widely as with Kirk.

    16. He did lower the flags for the school shooting at the catholic school. But just that one.

To be fair if he did lower the flag for every school shooting the flag would be at half mass everyday.

If that’s the case I think it’s time we moved back on to the Epstein files. I’ve been forced to spend more time on this than I’d like.

    18. Looking at the flag flying at half staff from my public school classroom has been nauseating.

We are glorifying a man that was cool with school shootings. There are children in my district who are black and brown, poor, gay, trans, and part of other marginalized groups singled out and condemned by this man. My heart hurts for them. They are being othered so much right now and it’s sickening. I can’t imagine going to school and feeling safe in a place where the people in charge are celebrating someone who wanted me dead.

Trump publicly represents only one part of the country, his fan base.

    20. faux_italian on

The prick in chief and his minions mercilessly made fun of Paul Pelosi’s attacker… excuse is if we see things differently.

    21. Odd-Scientist-2529 on

We should be silent about him. Zero engagement.

      Charlie who? Delete the history.

It’s the only way to end the madness

    22. DangerActiveRobots on

At what point are we going to officially recognize that we’re two different countries sharing the same land mass?

    23. I remember when the President of the United States supported All Americans. But it’s only happened a few times.

    24. This is not true. Not *everyone* is talking about the hypocrisy. I’d wish everyone was talking about it. But that’s not true. MAGA isn’t talking about it. MAGA doesn’t care about it. It’s not just the hypocrisy of Trump, it’s the hypocrisy of the whole MAGA movement, i.e. the whole Republican Party and all of its voters.

    25. HockeyBalboa on

We have to stop thinking calling out their hypocrisy does anything. They don’t care, and in fact hypocrisy and then gaslighting about it are part of their tactics.

    26. They didn’t hear about Hortman being killed, though. That’s why they didn’t say anything then, and now they’re not going to say anything because what happened was in the past.
