As someone on the right I think this is a fair point. I don’t think the Democratic lawmakers were nearly as influential/known Nationally as Kirk, and they weren’t shot in front of 30,000 college students in a livestreamed event, but it was still tragic and big news. Flags should have been lowered for both.
For anyone confused here it is fair to point out the distinction the White House did lower flags at White House and many federal buildings, after MN lawmakers were killed, but just not ordered as widely as with Kirk.

To be fair if he did lower the flag for every school shooting the flag would be at half mass everyday.

Looking at the flag flying at half staff from my public school classroom has been nauseating.
We are glorifying a man that was cool with school shootings. There are children in my district who are black and brown, poor, gay, trans, and part of other marginalized groups singled out and condemned by this man. My heart hurts for them. They are being othered so much right now and it’s sickening. I can’t imagine going to school and feeling safe in a place where the people in charge are celebrating someone who wanted me dead.

I remember when the President of the United States supported All Americans. But it’s only happened a few times.
This is not true. Not *everyone* is talking about the hypocrisy. I’d wish everyone was talking about it. But that’s not true. MAGA isn’t talking about it. MAGA doesn’t care about it. It’s not just the hypocrisy of Trump, it’s the hypocrisy of the whole MAGA movement, i.e. the whole Republican Party and all of its voters.
We have to stop thinking calling out their hypocrisy does anything. They don’t care, and in fact hypocrisy and then gaslighting about it are part of their tactics.
