You can always tell when a judge has a preconceived ruling , then trying to twist logic into a reasoning as to why . The issued ruling makes no fucking sense to anybody with any common sense at all. The SC does it all the time. Writes bullshit that doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the original case. Square peg, round hole ..

I naively believed that enough good people were still around to prevent the total destruction of this country but I was wrong. It turns out Americans really do want to destroy their entire country and way of life and no one is going to stand in their way

While criminal intent is an important part of cases like this, and we generally dont want to be sending people to jail for fraud if they genuinely didn’t know or think they were doing anything wrong, there are standards of reasonableness that are supposed to be taken into account.
I struggle to see how these 15 people’s belief in a conspiracy theory can be seen as a reasonable belief. A reasonable person wouldn’t sign their name to a legal document claiming to be an elector despite the official electors having been publicly chosen already (and this effort explicitly being a reaction to that) and not suspect they may be doing a fraud.
This will likely be appealed.

THIS has got to be overturned; otherwise, any future election where people want to „play pretend“ that they do not believe the results, they can go commit crimes to change that outcome. No way this stands.
So Republicans can break literally every law and norm with no repercussions, but heaven forbid Democrats do anything to benefit the citizens, that’s somehow always unconstitutional.
Nothing is ever going to change until people involved in things like this start facing consequences for their actions. Lack of accountability is destroying this nation.

This will be appealed and if the appellate court has any sense, reversed. Whether the fake electors had the requisite _mens rea_ is a finding of a fact that only a jury can determine. It cannot be resolved pretrial as part of an effort to dismiss a case.
