      He helped create a searchable database of every person in the country that ICE, DOJ, DOD, and other federal agencies are using to target people to deport. He’s leaving with new government contracts worth billions of our tax money. He also targeted and weakened the agencies that were investigating, building cases, and in legal battle with his illegal business practices.

      The cost of those „savings“ is estimated to be $135BN, „according to the Partnership for Public Service (PSP), a nonpartisan nonprofit that focuses on the federal workforce“ if you include ‚putting tens of thousands of federal employees on paid leave, re-hiring mistakenly fired workers and lost productivity.‘

      So the actual DOGE SAVINGS is somewhere between -$77BN and +$25BN

      MASSIVE FAIL!

      But LEON’S Overpromising just facilitated his crimes, crony hires, and data theft. I’m going to bet he’s only superficially „stepping down“ because WH can’t hold off the lawsuits against him any longer. (By WH standards, a CRIMINAL IMMIGRANT needs to be rendered / DEPORTED — Zero Tolerance)

      Now he begins self-dealing. He’ll be using the information and cronies culled from DOGE to grant his companies massive government contracts and concessions. Trump already helped get this rolling with free PR (Buying Tesla on WH Lawn presser), Tesla tariff exemptions, trying to double SpaceX launches, and pushing Starlink to replace Verizon in FAA contracts (and elsewhere).

      Consider any SpaceX „ask“ of the FAA pre-approved, since Leon has gutted the agency, and brought in a bunch of pimple-faced MuskRats to „test StarLink as a partial fix“

      He’s not „leaving Washington.“ He’s burrowing deeper into the pockets of American taxpayers.

I do not think “he said he could cut costs by 2 trillion dollars yet only saved 2-8% of what he said he could” is a good poke considering we all know by now he was talking about social security. Just let him gtfo without daring if you arnt going to point that point out in the article. He could and would with more time and may have succeeded already if he set the stage for those not leaving yet to circumvent the red tape, let em go. That should have been the whole point of the article about DOGE taint he left behind. He did find the 2 trillion! Its social security! ABC missed the whole point!       I, for one, would like to see this mercenary POS behind bars and rotting for many, many years. While that may not happen under Trump’s watch, there may be a very good chance that if Trump is booted, the next administration can find a way to start moving in that direction

      Why would Musk care? He got what he wanted, all the state secrets he’s probably selling to our enemies right now, the agencies investigating him are either gone or so neutered that they can’t do anything, and he’s got a direct line to absolute power and unlimited government contracts that will make him billions through Trump.

      His *personal goal* was deregulation and securing government contracts and his „public“ goal was selling it as a PR campaign to reduce waste in the government but that was always a front for the personal goal.

      And the only reason the PR campaign failed was because Trump and MAGA got tired of him because of his antics so they stopped preforming the MAGA pantomime for him.

      He succeeded in securing a huge amount of money for himself and his businesses through deregulation and contracts so i don’t think this is a „win“ for anyone.

      The country is still much worse off than when he started and he’s made himself much richer.
