> Buffett took time during the meeting to slam Trump for his harsh trade war.
>
> “I don’t think it’s right, and I don’t think it’s wise,” he said. “There is no question that trade can be an act of war, and I think it’s led to bad things, just the attitudes it’s brought out.”
>
> Buffett also told the crowd that “trade should not be a weapon.”
>
> “It’s a big mistake, in my view, when you have 7.5 billion people that don’t like you very well, and you’ve got 300 million that are crowing in some way about how well they’ve done,” he added.
> President Donald Trump has received backlash from investors, international leaders, and even members of his own staff for his harsh „reciprocal“ tariffs.
> Buffett went on to rip the president’s callous remarks that international allies are “screwing” the American people.
>
> Trump’s “America First” trade war has imposed tariffs as high as 145 percent on other countries and led to major swings in the newly-unstable market.
>
> “I do not think it’s a great idea to try and design a world where a few countries say, ‘Ha ha ha, we’ve won,’ and other countries are envious,” Buffett said. “The more prosperous [the world becomes] and the safer we’ll feel, and your children will feel one day.”
It’s not about what’s good for business. We know globalization is good for that.
He doesn’t give a shit about American citizens, he’s just mad that tRUMP is hurting the bottom line of oligarchs, hedge funders and corporate raiders. Don’t mistake his criticism of the current administration as anything other than self-interest.
Harsh words isn’t what I had in mind as a “takedown”. People who value Buffet’s opinion probably already don’t like Trump’s tariff flailing.
Wow, well it looks like Buffet *might* be the first guy I’ve seen to defy the adage „you die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.“
Because he’s been around over 90 years, he’s routinely taken the side of more taxes on the wealthy, he’s been right about basically every investment decision hes ever made and now he takes his last actions to Undermine Trump.
Seems like a as good a guy as we’ve ever had, especially when you consider how awful the rest of the billionaires are.
Thank you Buffett, one of the few large scale ethical capitalists.
Awesome.
I mean this is great and all, but I feel like the only people with any kind of wealth or power that speak out against Trump do it on their way out the door. How about standing up today while you can still move markets and affect change? Looking at all those cowardly republicans and a chunk of dems that are too afraid of losing their power and money to speak up. The time is now!
You guys like billionaires now lol
Did Vance pay him a visit?
When money sensei Warren Buffet says something isn’t “wise” I would buckle up and scrub the dojo and take his fucking word for it.
You love to see it. While I wouldn’t call this a takedown, he’s still criticizing Trump and is one of the people whose criticism will get under Trump’s thin skin. I hope that shithead is throwing food and raging.

How this isn’t INCREDIBLY self-explaining and obvious to every single living being is, to me, mindblowing. This is what happens when you raise your people with unquestionable, unapologetic patriotism. Narcissism, lack of compassion, no capabilities of empathy, refusing to self-criticise, the list goes on…
America is truly about to FAFO. They are finally about to find out what the rest of the world has always thought about them (the stereotypical loud/selfish ones, that is), as the consequences of their actions come right back to smack them down. No nation can thrive by isolating themselves.
I’m sorry for the ones that voted against this, but know that we – the people outside of America – are with you in opposing MAGA behaviour. There’s a whole lot more of us than there are of them.
Can we get passed saying X „SLAMMED“ Y already?
My man finally has that 401k where he wants it
Did he really tho? Did he take down the president? No. That shitgibbon is still in office.
Republicans believe in a magical thinking, not logical thinking. They believe God will bless them no matter what happens as long as they oppose the devil (liberals). So in their minds Trump can do no wrong because he’s the opposite of what the devils wanted, so it has to be the will of God, and God will take care of them (eventually). They’re going to drag us all to Hell with them.
