Ich habe Google ein bisschen gemacht und anscheinend weltweit der 6. Platz, nicht den 4. Platz. Aber zusammen mit Schweden sind wir die ersten mit F & E, die nicht von militärischen Forschung dominiert werden

I suspect the majority of it is pharmaceutical and medical (I know we do a ton of cancer research for instance)
Not so much for academia though … And probably less and less thanks to the current government.
Since we’re very much a brain driven economy this makes sense.
