Hallo, ich bin ein Amerikaner, der sich sehr für Erbe und Geschichte interessiert. Mein Vater, seine Schwester und meine verstorbene Großmutter wussten von einem starken litauischen Erbe in unserer Familie, aber sie haben selbst keine weiteren Informationen. Laut einem DNA -Test, den ich mit Ancestry.com durchgeführt habe, könnten die Herren hier (siehe Bild) mein Vorfahr sein, aber bisher ist dies die einzigen litauischen Vorfahren, die ich gesehen habe. Ich frage mich, wo ich weitere Informationen über ihn finden kann, da ich bisher nicht weiß, wo ich sich befindet. Danke! 🇺🇸❤️🇱🇹

I should note according to Ancestry DNA, I inherited all 23% of my father’s Lithuanian (Labeled as “Baltic” on Ancestry) DNA
This name would translate to Antanas Jonas Gelžinis. Also, when I lived in Chicago, I had a friend with this last name, but this was in very early 2000s and I have lost all the contacts, but… I hope this will help your research. I don’t know anything about existence of Ruvėnai (?) but there is a town names Rugėnai by Kėdainiai. It was quite common to misspell the records of places and last names when new arrivals were registered straight of the boat in those days.
no W in Lithuanian so maybe could be Rugėnai or Rūdėnai instead, a couple of other options. unfortunate typo. the local form of his name would probably have been Antanas (Jonas) Gelžinis.
