The UK is holding discussions with France and Saudi Arabia about the possible recognition of a Palestinian state during an upcoming UN conference in June. However, Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized on Wednesday that Britain wants such recognition to support meaningful progress toward a two-state solution to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict—not simply as a symbolic gesture.
A two state solution is the need of the hour but Netanyahu and the far right parties will never accept it. Having talks without taking Israel into account is futile.
If the UK and France were able to hold Netanyahu on a leash, then two states might have been a viable solution, but alas, that is not possible.
UK needs to first fix it’s own problems. Why UK is talking for Palestinian states? It’s absolutely beyond my imagination. Is this because of mass migration from Isl*mic country that‘ happened in UK and now they are becoming big force in UK politics which is forcing UK govt to talk for Palestinian state?? If this is the reason than very dangerous future waiting for UK. Practically speaking it is impossible now for Palestinian state. Israel have USA backing. Full support without any questions. And even China can just condemn israel action and never go totally against them. Same things India,Japan and South Korea will do just condemn nothing pressure. I’m not sure about others european what is there view‘. But this is just waste of time.
It surely isn’t wise to reward terrorism with geopolitical achievements.
A great rewards for Hamas carrying out mass murder. Is it just me or have UK politicians been acting as if they’re destined to become an Islamic state?
Committing the largest massacre of Jews since the holocaust and being rewarded with a state would be beyond the pale. I pray Israel doesn’t cooperate.
I can’t wait for UK, France, and SA to let us all know where Palestinian borders are and what government is in charge.
