Do we really care? As far as i’m concerned Europe isn’t going to trade from roads passing through Iran, so as much as this road can do, it’s going to allow passage of Azerbaijanis to Nakhichevan, maybe to Turkey. Let them have it, would love to be the third person watching when they feud again and Iran closes that route.
One thing to worry about is, if the road would be used to traffic weapons in between the east and west, but Iran would be wise not to let that happen for its own interests. Then again, this is Iran with zero plans.

I don’t know but I think this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If they have a viable alternative then maybe they’ll give up on their corridor dreams and stop bothering us.
Would make sense for Iran to do this as they clearly stated that they don’t want any border changes and of course they’d rather take a compromising approach than letting the situation escalate further.
We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

I mean it’s normal. Iran like the status quo because they make money from it by having trade. This should not stop the Armenia gov from trying to open up and normalize with Azerbaijan. We need to work towards having a normal neighbor relationship with our neighbors at some point. This shouldn’t sideline that idea.
They doing this to remove any excuse for Azarbayjan to invade southern Armenia lands in order to connect to Nakhjavan . This is the main reason as Bako regime has long term ambitious to connect directly to Nakhjavsn and Turkey and that is a red line for Iran.
When they build dams in the river for electricity and irrigation purposes does this treating the fresh water off Armenia?
Iran has a big need for fresh water, they have mismanagement in this regards
