I’d like to have faith in their common sense and sense of responsibility but congress is still nothing but an extension of Trump right now. I am pretty sure they haven’t blocked a single thing he’s tried to do this term.

The only issue and its the main one…..ITS TOO FUCKING LATE. The economy has literally tanked, all our economic relationships are ruined. Economists are literally hitting the Alien’s 2 „GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER“.
In the same way Trump gets down on his knees for Putin, the legislature currently does the same for Trump. We’re expecting common sense from spineless cowards whose integrity was bought and paid for a long ago.
I fully encourage the US to repeal and undo the tariffs. However, the damage that’s been intentionally caused to relations with your allies will take just as long to repair as it took to build them initially.
The majority of Canadians I know are starting to look at the US the same way we look at Russia, and even more are beginning to trust the words of Xi over Trump. Please don’t take that as a sign that we generally trust either of them.

If they were smart they’d orchestrate this themselves. It’s a start. But it’s unlikely to pass the House. Senator’s with their six-year terms are less accountable to their constituents than two-year term House members, who will really feel the wrath of MAGA if they try anything to weaken Trump. But good luck!

The damage is already done. Our trading partners are not going to come running back into our arms. They are moving on and have learned their lesson.
