Kyiv has agreed to sign a long-awaited minerals deal with Washington and could do so later today, a government source has said.
Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine’s economy minister, is reported to be travelling to the United States to finalise the agreement.
Officials in Kyiv hope that the deal will ensure the US continues to supply Ukraine with military assistance. President Trump has not approved any new aid for Kyiv since his return to the White House in January.
