maybe they can get a lift with code or keys so they can be sure you won’t use it?

In my case, the common area fees are shared equally, including the lift, cleaning, bills..etc. It is written in the contract.

Otherwise you end up with tedious discussions when one owner doesn’t want to pay for cleaning because they don’t make a mess, or they want to pay less electricity bills because they don’t use the common area lights…etc.

Also, what penalty should they impose on you if you use the lift that you haven’t paid for? Maybe you need to carry something heavy upstairs?

Check what’s written in the contract, or at least show the contract to your lawyer if you haven’t already, then again I would be surprised if he gave you advice without asking for it…

    4. Then expect the new lift to not stop on your floor.
Of course that will have a negative effect on the price if you decide to sell your apartment.

If you don’t want to contribute to the shared expenses of the common areas of the building, then maybe living in an apartment block isn’t for you.
