When citizenship can be bought it devalues it.

So Robert (who said he supports it) step aside and call a general election now?

Fantastic news. A massive win for Malta and any Maltese who genuinenly hold Malta’s best interests at heart beyond short-term profits.
If people want to reside in Malta, they can pursue the relevant path towards permanent residency, which would also give access to the EU anyway.

All those Americans looking to come here to escape their problems are fucked. Good

Great, now is the EU going to force us to rescind passports which have already been issued? Otherwise this is only half-justice served.

Good news for those having the interests of the country at heart. I guess we will be having front row seats to a temper tantrum from Muscat though. I suggest to buy popcorn now before its price skyrockets.

„The court said member states cannot grant nationality, and by extension EU citizenship, in exchange for pre-determined payments or investments, as this essentially amounts to rendering the acquisition of nationality a mere commercial transaction.“
So if they make the price unknown and charge every applicant a different fee based on the mood of the day, they might still sell it.
Or you just pay a bribe to the minister himself 😬

What a laughable discussion.
Entire areas/communities are being replaced with foreigners (often subsidised by taxpayers) who hold anti-western values, but the stupid EU courts are concerned about individual rich people buying citizenship and putting money into tax coffers.
When you criticise or point out the former you’re labelled as a racist, when you criticise the latter you’re holding the best interests of the country/union at heart. What a fucking joke.
