Just give it another 30 days until they start running out of stocked goods of everything due to the tariffs and they start seeing bare shelves then the other 29% will agree lol

Wasn’t surveyed for the poll – but I’d consider myself to be amongst the 71%

Well, yeah. It’s cause economic conditions are poor. Just like everyone with a brain predicted.

    4. They ain’t seen nothin‘ yet. Wait until Memorial Day and shelves and stock rooms are empty. It’s going to make the supply chain disruptions from Covid look like a minor inconvenience. Amazon’s already raising prices. Just wait until everything is listed as „out of stock with no date.“ And then when Trump inevitably reverses the tariffs because it’s politically untenable, we get a replay of post-Covid inflation for the same reasons adding insult to injury.

I saw the number of people who are worried about being laid off at their job — it usually ticks between 20% in good times and 40% in bad times (for example at the height of the Biden inflation and tech layoffs).

It was at 70% which is near record levels. It hasn’t been close to that since the height of the 2008 recession. That’s just not politically sustainable.

The ‚low information voters‘ that got tRump elected are about to find out their President set them up for a world of hurt. Hopefully, they’ll be more educated when the mid-term elections come around.

You should have been expecting this and betting against the market.

When he was elected in November we had an economy that was the envy of the world

    11. This percentage is so high that made me feel alarming. Anyone in his sane mind would find it concerning that so many people are so out of touch with the reality, that they just live in a parallel universe and only believe what their master tell them, even when it’s just pure illusion, a misconception of the real situation. In short, I just can’t fucking believe that as many as 29% of people don’t even know what’s going on around them.

    12. …and it isn’t even *really* that bad yet. This is gonna be something to watch.

I tried placing a $66 Temu order and was going to be charged over $90 in tariffs, as retailers are passing the costs directly on to consumers.

I see us looking like Venezuela some time soon, with people eating out of the garbage on the streets.

    14. >Just 34% of Americans call themselves enthusiastic or optimistic about the economy

That here is the issue. This is the republican base. I don’t know how you get that 30%ish to open their eyes, and until that happens republicans will keep the shitshow going

Every single one of these idiots who voted for Trump have only themselves to blame. Economy was excellent when Biden left office. He could have literally done NOTHING and everything would be humming along nicely.

    16. Brief_Night_9239 on

Well..some of you voted for Trump. Actions have consequences. And the effects of the tariffs haven’t hit yet..give it a few months. Then you will feel REAL pain while Trump, Bessent, Lutnick, Navarro and the merry band of billionaires Elon, Steve and Jeff party…

    17. The-M0untain on

Trump’s solution will be to arrest the people who worked on this poll.

    18. Ok_Wolverine_3104 on
