„Majority of Americans possess bare minimum of awareness as to ongoing events“

    2. That’s probably because it is, and we’re only at the start of the destruction, it’s going to get much worse in the coming months.

    3. Flying_Woodchuck on

One can hope they are right. Until enough people suffer there wont‘ be enough bravery to attempt to put an end to this before it gets even worse.

„Just hang in their for the pain, the gain is coming soon…in about two weeks“

    5. Oh it’s about to be a whole lot worse. Tariff shortages are still a week out or more

Trumps regime claims to be in negotiations with 100 countries.

Firstly that is impossible, the US does not have the resources to do that.

More importantly, if this were even true, it horrifically stupid and naive.

Basically the US us claiming to have the weakest possible hand. Every partner in negotiations knows that the USA is on the back foot with everybody else.

    7. Even without all the numbers in I can’t imagine how it could be great. The instability and uncertainty from the tariffs has left many companies not wanting to expand or invest in the US. Then there’s the tourism industry which has completely flat lined due to the travel warnings and that is a big industry. These 2 things on their own are going to hurt.

Supply chains are broken, US shelves will be empty within a couple of weeks.

The rest of the World will be flooded with cheap Chinese goods.. and so they will negotiate. A new World order is being imposed by Trump, and it will nor favor America.

Because  it is? What percentage  idiotically blames Obama or Biden, though? 😆  deep state or whatever  they vomit out

    10. It is. Anyone with a retirement account or mutual fund can see that for themselves and anyone without can compare prices on groceries and household goods between now and January.

    11. I don’t understand why it isn’t 99.99% with the only people who disagree being Trump, David Sacks, Howard Lutnik and Peter Navarro.

    12. The thing that many of us said would happen happened. The CEOs from Wallmart, Target, Home Depot and I sure more behind the scenes having to talk to the Donald about the financial problems and global reaction. If the shelves don’t have products like food and baby formula the general public regardless of political leanings will be upset. Politics is just background noise till it effects you or someone you know.

I love the term „thinking“ it’s getting worse. By every single metric, it’s catastrophically gotten worse. But then again, these are the same ignorant fuck sticks that couldn’t understand how good our economy was and thought orange Hitler was going to „fix“ a problem he couldn’t even form a coherent thought about. So there’s that.

Based on Trump’s interviews approaching the 2024 election, he was making it very clear to all who would ask and many who didn’t that his plan called for beautiful tariffs. That he would take America back to pre 1913 to when the federal government was funded by tariffs and there was no income tax. Most all financial and business leaders disagreed. Regardless, here we are.

For working class stiffs what’s the difference? In the short term we pay income tax AND tariff prices like the suckers we are. In the long term, maybe if you make less than $200k income tax goes away (we’ll believe it when we see it) but everything costs more. It’s a shell game. tariffs are a tax.

    15. Oh, this is going to be a whole new level of shitpocalypse. They have no idea of what we’re getting into. None.

      Surprise

You are the winner … of being stupid for voting for this

Think? Have they looked at their 401Ks? Have they seen the gdp dropping to 1.6%? Unemployment ticking up? Deficit getting larger?

    18. I was really surprised he won. He made everything worse when he was president, the pandemic, the economy, and unity

    19. pontiacfirebird92 on

Latest Gallup poll shows 90% of Republicans approve of Trump’s handling of the economy though

    20. We haven’t even fully felt the tariffs yet nor the resulting layoffs that are coming.

    21. Resident_String_5174 on

Non-us person here – in our news this regime looks like absolute hell, chaotic and pretty much all the things 2nd amendment people said they needed to keep their guns to stop –
      A) has ANYTHING got better in the last 100 days?
      B) why hasn’t Trump been at least impeached yet?

    22. It’s still Biden’s fault according to the current administration. How long before they can’t claim it anymore. Or is going to be it for four years?

    23. He’s destroying not only our current economy.

He’s destroying our ability to be competitive in the future.

We started at the top, with the dollar being the global currency standard.

Now we are isolated. Without the means of production. Without the innovation needed to grow our economy in the future.

They are moving America back to the 1300s so we can all live like the poor citizens in Russia.

    24. StandardDiver2791 on

Soon as those tariffs kick in, we won’t just think it, we’ll live it. The Idiot-in-Chief is betting on it.

    25. I feel large parts of American society have Stockholm syndrome… and nothing has happend yet, the bad stuff is not even kicking in yet…

    26. RandMcNallys_Revenge on

Under Republicans; let’s not get it twisted. The orange menace is just a newish tsunami of bullshit that’s merely a continuation of constant fucking hurricanes all of which, theoretically, could have been avoided.

This poll is just an acknowledgement of the most recent come to jesus moment by low information voters that REPUBLICANS ARE SHIT FOR THE ECONOMY AND FOR AMERICAN LIVES IN GENERAL (meaning the average American that wasn’t born into piles of unearned wealth).

US oil companies stocks are down 13% because trump called up Saudi Arabia again to get opec barrels for cheap. He also put tariffs on our allies that buy our oil. Keep an eye on how many layoffs happen at US companies.

    28. President tRumps 100 days in the beginning said he was given a man date.
I want to know with who?.
What would a man date look like?. Who would like to man date tRump?
Why would you man date tRump?
After the man date is over do you have to kiss?
It’s it a peck, a smooch, or is tongue in evolved?
      Just asking?

    30. Ha! Well it’s definitely not getting better. It was headed up when Trump took over and he’s totally screwed it up.

It took a plague to get rid if shit for brains last time.  Maybe this time it will be the incoming second great economic depression? I guess we will just have to wait and see, since the nation has comedown with an overwhelming case of spinelessness.
