I remember when 2012 was the point of no return on ~~global warming~~ climate change.
>Scientists analyzed nine so-called planetary boundaries and found humans are currently transgressing six
This important report was published last September but still worth reposting. It’s very hard to see a way out of this, especially as humanity cannot yet feed 8 billion people without the fossil fuels used in every stage of modern agriculture. There are no alternatives at the required scale.
But the longer we use them the more we destabilize global climate driving mass species extinction and making agriculture impossible. Pretty much the reason that r/collapse is a thing.
Scientific American is not some liberal rag. It seems the secret is sustainability
Until the lawmakers are replaced with scientists and not people just trying to stuff their pockets we are going to continue to be screwed.

In the 70s everyone was saying an ice age was imminent and nothing…. I was born in the 90s and a lot of people said Y2K would be the end of our society, and here we are .
Education is important. Greed cant be the main driver of the economy. Gotta fix these two things or it all crumbles. Tragedy of the commons.
