It’s incredibly depressing to see the establishment trying to silence Sanders, but the fact that over 30,000 people showed up to a rally in Colorado, that’s a clear indication that his message is resonating with the American people, and to be honest, trying to dismiss him like that is just insulting.

It’s honestly confusing that some Democrats are questioning Sanders‘ language, and it makes you wonder, shouldn’t we be presenting facts directly, as Sanders does, rather than dumbing it down for anyone?, I mean, the sheer number of people showing up to his rallies is really something, with 36,000 in Los Angeles, 34,000 in Colorado, and 30,000 in California, that shows people are hungry for real discussion.

There are plenty of dumb people out there… but even they can be made to understand how an Oligarchy would be bad for them.

    4. > Sanders’ remarks come days after Sen. Elissa Slotkin said Democrats should stop using the term.

      It’s a perfectly apt term.

I love what Jimmy Carter had to say about it after [Citizens United](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC)

      > “It violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president. And the same thing applies to governors and U.S. senators and congress members.

      > So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over. …

      > The incumbents, Democrats and Republicans, look upon this unlimited money as a great benefit to themselves. Somebody’s who’s already in Congress has a lot more to sell to an avid contributor than somebody who’s just a challenger.”

    5. Americans aren’t dumb? Trump being elected president twice says other wise.

Not sure I can agree that Americans aren’t dumb, unfortunately. I do think other Dems have a point about dumbing the message down as much as possible.

    7. OpenImagination9 on

Americans in general are that dumb as proven twice now. When you start seeing more maga stickers than equality stickers in the parking lot at these events you have something.

Otherwise they will continue to vote against their own interests.

The democratic establishment is why we’re in the position we’re in. Rat bastards like Pelosi and Schumer and Feinstein that died in office for fucks sake get out!! Let the younger ones be the face of the party in sick of these greedy rich assholes

Obviously tens of millions of them are. Or if not dumb, then actively malicious.

Do not dumb down the message a citizens United is not legal remove it this allow the 1 percent to own judges and presidents

    12. Fund individual candidates, not the DNC. The DNC is a leadership organization that exists only to advance the leaderships‘ interests: that’s why it ended up being Clinton vs Trump rather than Sanders vs Trump.

    13. GoldInMyPocket on

Trump getting elected proves Americans are in fact incredibly fucking dumb!

    14. Oh, come on Bernie! They voted for ‚Stable Genius‘, ‚I want to be a dictator‘ Russian asset Trump.

    15. According-Mention334 on

Apparently considering his and AOC’s record crowds. It’s a sign for the Democrats that it will not work to be MAGA lite we must pull this country back to the left.

    16. Corporate dems are concerned because they realize their bosses *are* the oligarchs.

*“I think the American people are not quite as dumb as Ms. Slotkin thinks they are,” Sanders added.*

      They’re dumber.

For months I’ve been saying the Democrats are useless, but I’m wrong.  They’re _**worse**_ than useless.    They’re undermining and weakening the resistance.    And then they wonder why people don’t vote for them.

    19. PackOutrageous on

Agree with him on the first point – we need to fight. As to Americans not being dumb, let’s just say he’s 1 out of 2.

    20. VesperMoon411 on

Americans took an economy doing pretty well and torpedoed it cause they hate the concept of they/them pronouns so much. Americans are the dumbest people on the face of the earth

    21. prodigalpariah on

I think the constant kowtowing to the idiots and lowest common denominator is big part of why we got here in the first place.

    22. Roguepepper_9606 on

A few weeks ago, Elissa Slotkin smugly asked the question “what have aoc and Bernie done for the party”, and now, after failing to learn their lesson, wants to run a(nother) republican-lite campaign. Those rallies aoc and Bernie have done have been better for the party and opposition to trump than anything Slotkin could ever do.

    23. The DNC already made their strategy to „fight“ MAGA. They want to stick to being middle of the road corporate Dems, and stick to the „Republican Lite“ policies that appeal to bubble voters. They care more about winning votes than any kind of meaningful change.

    24. solitudeisdiss on

Let’s not kid ourselves. Americans are dumb and the collective ignorance has been on full display.

    25. AllTheyEatIsLettuce on

Americans are profoundly, astoundingly, loudly, proudly, and utterly indefensibly dumb. But keep talking to them as if they aren’t and maybe that’ll work. Nothing else has.

    26. Sorry Bernie, we are so dumb that we elected the orange fraud not once but twice. We are beyond dumb.

      Carry on…

    27. Americans understand what the word means when it involves foreign governments. How they’d not know what it meant here is kind of crazy. And it’s not exactly a difficult subject matter. “Rich people own the government.” Whaaaa?
