This will be the game changer, the power of quantum computers, combined with AI.
LLM and transformer are not thinking machines, they are pattern generators and predictors, without a pattern which can only be created when enough data is sourced they have limited utility.
Many real world problems are edge cases and because they’re edge cases there’s likely limited data about them, so LLm AI falls apart.. try it ask any modern AI am edge cases and see how it responds.
A real thinking machine would use both patterns and discern logic from those and be able to formulate new solutions based on inferred logic and use temporal and environmental familiarity to plan a solution…nothing that current systems do.
Yeah, after reading the article this is nothing lol. Some researchers hope that maybe quantum computers could do this. Ok…
Anyways, not really sure what the obsessions is with AI that truly “thinks” or works like a human brain. It probably won’t be anything like a human brain, but who cares? Cars don’t function like human legs, but they do the job. If we can get AI that can perform more and more tasks better than humans, then it doesn’t really matter how they perform them or how similarly they function to a human brain.
