It is specifically for identifying things you have no clue of.
Not sure what the Germany connection is. The ring could be made of steel, check ASTM/SAE norms.
Maybe somebody worked at Thyssen and made that ring.

Es ist ein Ring aus Aluminium, der vermutlich aus der Zeit 1935 bis 1945 stammt. Die Gravur gibt keinen eindeutigen Hinweis: Heutiges Aluminum trägt als Zusatz auch F1050. Es kann wie oben vermutet der
Stein fehlen…
