Trump findet ein anderes Land, das seine Massenabschiebungen akzeptiert: Inmitten der Wut über Trumps Deportationen an El Salvador deportierte die Verwaltung gerade jemanden nach Ruanda. Und nein, er ist nicht von dort.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?
Supreme Court- “Damn he’s smart, we only said no more deportations to El Salvador” /s
He is just sending people anywhere he can, and the worse those countries will treat people the better for him. This is outrageous.
Rwanda as an exile location – sounds familiar. Ah, right, the program started under UK Conservative governments, in which a grand total of 4 people ended up there, and then shut down by Sir Keir’s government. Rwanda didn’t quite seem to learn from the UK experience, didn’t learn from El Salvador’s experience, and didn’t smell the failure that is the Trump policy and administration. And it cost like 700M quid for their troubles.
Was this a fucking Farage suggestion? 🤬
How many countries does the US have these deals with?
What are the exact terms of the deals?
The American people deserve to know. This shouldn’t be a secret.
WTF with this guy sending people to parts of the world they have nothing to do with? Even if they got out they would be fucked. Probably do not speak the language. He just makes up fantasy punishments and disappears people?
These foreign hellhole prisons are paid for by US tax dollars. The money they took from USAID is now funding deathcamps instead.
on the plus side, many have tried this with Rwanda, to find that Rwanda like taking the money, but really dont seem to care what happens to the people, lose track of them, and later they are found to have made it back to the country they were deported from…….
The Brits tried to deport immigrants to Rwanda. It didn’t work for them.
Was due process be avoided again?
How long do you think it’ll be before we see someone deported to Russia?
Anyone else wonder why we have to pay other countries millions of dollars for people we deport? Is this one of those “Mexico will pay for the wall” grifts?
> Last year in May, Ameen said in a statement that “I am so grateful to the judge for listening to all the evidence, and I thank God that in this country, I had the right to defend myself and be found innocent. I love America and want to enjoy living here with my wife and children for the rest of my life. It saddens me that I still have to fight for my freedom again.”
Yet Ameen was let down by the U.S. and is now the first person to be deported by the Trump administration to Rwanda, and on the basis of weak evidence to boot. Will he get any restitution, or will he be stuck overseas like Abrego Garcia?
This is unfortunate and horrifying
How much is he paying Rwanda? And did he approach them or are the dictators waking up and realizing they can make money out the US because they know the clown is too stupid to understand he’s being used? At the expense of our democracy.
They aren’t deportations. It’s human trafficking.
If the courts don’t stop this, we have no laws.
This is probably more legally defensible than the El Salvador cases. Reading on other sources, he was ordered deportable back in 2021 based on a judge’s finding that he had lied on his immigration paperwork. I think, from reading a couple sources, that he has been in custody since then. The judge ruled that if he could not be deported back to his home country of Iraq (where he says he would be killed) that he should go to Turkey, where he had been living last outside the US. However, I do not know whether Turkey would take him since he is not a Turkish national and was found to have terrorist ties by the judge.
It looks like Iraq tried extradite him for criminal charges related to terrorism, and a US federal judge denied that. He was released from jail but picked up by ICE for possibly lying on his initial immigration paperwork due to the Iraq case showing evidence of ties to terror groups.
The US does have the ability to deport people to other countries if they can’t be sent back to their home country. The biggest difference here from El Salvador is that the arrangement with Rwanda seems to include money for social services, residency documents, and work permits. This suggests that Ameen will be released to Rwanda out of custody, free to live his life outside the US. This is WAAAAAAY different than being deported to be held in a torture prison. If he is being deported to a Rwandan prison its be a whole different thing.
Its scary because its Rwanda and Trump is inherently untrustworthy but a quick scan looks like they may be able to legally justify this. The question remains why he wasn’t deported to Turkey, and there may or may not be a legal reason for that. They held him in custody for 4 years instead of deporting him there already.

What the fuck.
Then stop calling it deportation.
He’s isn’t deporting people. He is paying another government to disappear people his government kidnapped off the streets in violation of the constitution and everything this country claims to stand for.
Edit: And this is why those sweeping holds from the courts are necessary. If he is blocked from breaking the law he immediately breaks it in a new way. That or breaks three more unrelated laws to occupy everyone’s attention.
His is a crime gatling gun and the only way to get him under control is completely shut him down. Unfortunately that would take more republicans who actually believed in democracy anymore.
What the F is,wrong with these people?
It’s rendition. Not deportation.
The previous UK government tried sending refugees to Rwanda. Gave them £100’s of millions to set up facilities. The UK Supremes shut it down completely. Maybe the US can use some of those UK funded facilities.
