Not to mention the national list of autistic people he wants to create by accessing private medical records

    2. RandomStrategy on

This just in: Uneducated non-doctor put in charge of national health has no idea what autism is.

    3. A could go right now and find a random guy day-drinking at a dive bar, and there’s a 50-50 chance he’d be more knowledgeable than the worst Kennedy. They’d also be qualified to serve as SecDef, apparently.

    4. fizzlemynizzle7194 on

Insane that this even has to be said but I know a few autistic people and they are the smart, capable, driven and a joy to be around.

Honestly, i can’t even write a fuckin poem. this guy is a wack job

    5. Is „Irish Rosie“ supposed to be Rosie O’Donnell? Is she the Faux News boogeyman of the week, an actress that chose to move from this shit hole to a better country?

    6. Ancient_Popcorn on

I hate that he isn’t getting enough hatred in response to his comments. He doesn’t deserve a single bit a pity or support. He deserves nothing but sheer anger and vitriol for words and actions.

    7. Constant-Lake8006 on

It always amuses me when dumb people are shocked to find outbpeople think they’re dumb. Of course rhe tragedy is they’re still too dumb to understand they’re dumb.

    8. TurnipDisastrous2413 on

Somehow I’ve managed all of those? My son doesn’t pay taxes yet, but he’s only 14–perhaps he’s ready for the mines?

    9. CrimsonFeetofKali on

Well people are going to get angry when the person heading the national health agency doesn’t understand the disorder, is quite confident in his lack of knowledge, states a desire to illegally access information in pursuing theories and approaches not backed by science, and when there is a long history of such approaches and registries being used to, quite literally, eradicate people and not the disease. Maybe that’s just me, but I also think it’s a bit odd to dump a dead bear cub in Central Park as an adult. Different times I guess.

    10. Not that logic makes a difference, but if vaccines caused autism, then the uptick in autism diagnoses should have happened in the 50s and 60s when childhood vaccinations started being a thing. If you’re looking at what changed in the last 10-20 years, that rules out most vaccines.

    11. AverageSizePeen800 on

No it is not a preventable disease, yes the absolute worst cases will have trouble getting through life, and we should help them. What is your point exactly?

    12. matt_bastard1986 on

Who knew a junkie that’s riddled with parasites from eating roadkill and whale juice would be such a piece of shit?

    13. ObjectiveOrange3490 on

He called autism, ADD/ADHD, Tourette’s, and narcolepsy „***injuries*** I never heard of when I was a kid.“ He’s 100% gonna blame it all on vaccines.

    14. Rusalka-rusalka on

I’m glad he’s capable of being shocked. Maybe this will help him understand that he doesn’t know anything, but I am not holding out hope because if change comes, it will be after he’s taken his precious time being terrible in other ways.

    15. PatchyWhiskers on

He managed to insult high-functioning autistic people and hurt the families of more severely affected autistic people. Good job. But this is the way antivaxx people talk about autism: it has to be worse than death and caused by vaccinations for their madness to make sense.

    16. „I just said a bunch of untrue and off base things about your children family and neighbors while talking about putting them on a „List“ for their differences why are they mad at me?“

    17. There’s an autistic chick on Survivor that is out and proud and making relationships/surviving tribal councils. I honestly find her annoying, but her success alone is enough representation to make him look like a dumb piece of shit.

    18. Anyone trusting a Kennedy when it comes to neurological health needs their brain examined. Just ask his aunt Rose.

Wtf is this „writing poems“ bullshit? I’m an autistic adult, married, pay my fair share of taxes and I’ve actually written enough poems to fill a book or two lol. And before I was married I went on plenty of dates. In fact, and this is crazy, a lot of folks I’ve dated liked me BECAUSE of my autistic traits (very honest, straightforward and a planner).

Also, even if he’s referring to the „nonverbal“ portion of autistic folks, fuck him. A lot of them CAN use the toilet unassisted, can write poems and can even go on dates. Someone has not seen Love on The Spectrum (while all the folks are verbal on this show, some less than others and some are clearly more disabled). I know he’s an idiot with a brain worm/yeerk dictating his actions but wtf. All of this during autism awareness month? Come on.

This from a man whose face literally looks like it’s melting/sliding off in real time.

    20. Here’s a poem from someone on the spectrum,

      RFK’s words are a concern,

But did they come from the worm?

The roadkill was in his car,

He kept a diary of his affairs,

Did a prank with a bear,

He looks like Microwaved Mel Gibson from afar.

    21. OneWholeBen on

Asperger’s is on the autism spectrum, correct?

      I just had a date,
      My job withholds my taxes,
      Here is a haiku.

    22. Straight-Ad6926 on

Tsunami of anger? That’s what happens when you ignore decades of research and autistic experiences.

    23. My autistic brother would not change for a ’normal‘ brain if it came with a $100k bonus. He’s a quirky dude but he has no interest in being anyone else.

      Fuck this guy.

    24. happylittledaydream on

      An autistic’s poem.

Roses are red, violets are blue
RFK Jr is poop on my shoe.

    25. I have a husband,

I have a really great job

      I just wrote a poem

      RFK junior

      Can kiss my autistic ass

      What a fucking joke

    26. canofspinach on

Visit a Google office and see a world of people on the spectrum having careers, families and even sex. Even poetry. Absolutely bonkers.

    27. quattrocincoseis on

„Wow, the radical left is unhinged! All I did was marginalize an entire subgroup and create a list so we can track them. Why is there so much hatred towards me?“

      What a fucking asshole.

    28. CaptainDildobrain on

I’m going for an autism assessment soon, but here’s a poem I wrote:

RFK once did a media stunt
Where autistic people he did hunt
      He used to do smack
      His science is quack
      And he’s such a gigantic cu…

    29. elainegeorge on

It’s not a disease. It’s a disorder. It’s right there in the name: Autism Spectrum Disorder. Diseases have a clear cause. Disorders are a group of symptoms that may not have a specific cause.

    30. elammcknight on

Turns out, shooting heroin for 20+ years doesn’t really help brain function out at all.

    31. Captain_Aware4503 on

Anyone else notice how RFK Jrs comments about people with Autism vaguely resembles how the right wing discusses Transsexuals? „there were not many a few decades ago“, „Its the environment that causes them to be that way“, „___ kids ruin families“, etc.

    32. My late brother was autistic. My brother was the best line cook a chef could ask for. He never had a problem with the ladies, though he never wanted a relationship. He may have had someone else do his taxes. Autism made him quirky but didn’t ruin his life, cancer did that. How about we stop distracting the public with nonsense and try to cure cancer.

    33. Severe_Broccoli7258 on

A family member on the spectrum has held a job at the same business from the age of 16 – over 10 years. They have had 3 romantic relationships and is active in numerous charities and food pantries. They’re contributing more to society than the average person. Fuck rfk jr.

    34. I’m on the spectrum. I pay my taxes every year, and I’ve gone on lots of dates. I admittedly don’t write poetry…but neither do most people. Not sure what poetry has to do with anything. Oh! And I can go to the bathroom, ALL BY MYSELF!

    35. ThyShirtIsBlue on

If he’d spend 90 seconds looking this up, he could have seen how verifiably false everything he said was, but we’re in a post-truth civilization where you just say whatever and the people who want to think that way will clap and cheer, and fact checking is deemed a threat to the first amendment.

    36. Don’t forget, his aunt Rosemary was lobotomized for having a developmental disorder and their family shuttered her away at an institution. They didn’t have autism back then just like they didn’t have sexual abuse or domestic abuse, boomers learned about sweeping under the rug from their parents.

    37. NoiseNegative299 on

Not only did I once go on a date but I got my date to help me create another autistic person who has also since gone on a date.

The new autistic person we created has so far not created any more autistic people.

We did vaccinate it, though, so I guess the autism is likely to continue at some point in the future.

    38. Just off the top of my head, didn’t Lewis Carrol have autism? Musk seems to be on the spectrum.. who was the gravity dude.. Isaac Newton, also on the spectrum, Edgar Allen Poe, another on the spectrum..

    39. theEndIsNigh_2025 on

“Medical experts attribute the rise in autism rates to improved diagnostic capabilities, a broadened definition of autism and increased awareness.”

Compared to what psychology was in the 50s and 60s when RFK Jr was a kid…
