That’s a really good example of how the ground/environment play a huge factor in explosive effectiveness. The vast majority of the shell’s explosive force and shrapnel went straight into the ground or directly up in the air. That shell landed maybe 5 meters away from the house and it looks unscathed except for some dirt on it.
It feels like neither side uses VT fuses a lot, is there any particular reason for it? I wouldn’t expect them to be particularly rare given the US invented the VT fuze almost 60 years ago now.
