It’s completely ridiculous to suggest it would take 200 years to deport the people his administration wants to remove, especially considering the statement originated on Truth Social, a platform not exactly known for its rigorous fact-checking, furthermore, I find it incredibly concerning that we’re accepting this timeframe as a realistic assessment, because what are we assuming about the processes involved, and are they truly that complex?

It has always been every fat old rich guy’s MO to break the law and see if anyone does anything about it, settle out of court for large sums of cash typically. He also slows down the judicial process with spam appeals, escalations and other time wasters. We all saw the supreme court take bribes and then change their law to make bribes legal so. Yeah. we would be better off if we had just all conned the MAGA suckers ourselves so they had no money left to donate to this fat piece of trash

I will always blame this problem on those that created it, Republicans.
In 2006 when „the problem“ started, Republicans blocked immigration reform.
Then again in 2015 when „the problem“ continued, Republicans blocked immigration reform.
Again, in 2024.
Hundreds of new immigration judges and courts would have been operational, thousands of added border patrol would have been on hand and things like ‚E-verify‘ would have already been implemented decades ago, if Republicans hadn’t blocked it.
Comical that these folk have any credibility on this issue.

What other parts of the Constitution will Trump selectively choose to enforce? It will be the ones that empower him. Free speech, right to assemble, right to bear arms, the right to worship your way, and the right to vote could be next. His oath of office does not give exceptions about defending the Constitution.

We absolutely can give everyone a trial and we will.
What he means is that he doesn’t want to give everyone a trial as he knows he is breaking the law and not giving legal citizens due process. Nor does he care if he is breaking the law and deporting legal citizens, simply because he wants to or if they have an opinion counter to his.
Looks like his illegal deportation plans will be on hold indefinitely now.

This is exactly what we went through after 9/11. Republicans, eager to shred the Constitution’s protections for Americans, put it through a vicious test run against Muslims. They insisted, without evidence, that the American legal system was too smol and weak to handle terrorists.
It handled John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ted Bundy.
It handled Timothy McVeigh, Eric Rudolph, Ted Kaczynski, and Ramzi Yousef.
When did the American legal system become ineligible to try terrorism and gang and murder cases? There are laws on the books we can try them for breaking. There’s no reason to pretend we can’t. We absolutely can! We not only have the capacity to, we have the *duty* to.

Yes, the US can give them all hearings and/or trials because all individuals have a right to due process according to the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. It just will cost millions of dollars. Money that would pay the federal worker’s who lost their jobs and other things the federal government’s doge has cut.
