      Yeah the principle of loving the neighbour, that’s only for the advanced Christians with the special knowledge. Everyone else is expected to just be awful to everyone.

      Poor guy didn’t know how useless that effort was. Excommunicating Vance and other R politicians at that meeting would have been the only lesson that would have stuck.

      The religious radical right-wingers are happy and celebrating the passing of Pope Francis on some social media platforms; which is just sickening.

      I’m guessing it’s because he was a more progressive Pope who stood up for Palestinians & LGBTQ+ groups.

      I grew up in a Catholic household.

      My immediate family isn’t particularly religious, but my extended family very much is.

      They often talk about how Catholic converts are simply the worst, and *never* get the scripture and its lessons right.

      Vance is a prime example of this.

      As a Catholic, it makes me proud that Papa Francis used the last of his breaths to impart the teachings of Jesus. It is doubtful Vance will reflect upon those messages and have profound change of heart. It is poetic that Papa made it through Easter; however, I think he was holding out to see peace in Urkraine and Russia. I wonder if Putin falsely proclaiming a cease fire with Ukraine gave the Pope false hope that peace would be imminent.

      Well, isn’t that interesting? It’s clear as day that this administration cozies up to Russians, who use toxic agents to assassinate people all the time. And then the day after meeting Darth Vance, he’s dead. I would definitely test his body for all clues and residues.
