Ich nahm einmal den Zug von Schifflange und die 4 Züge in einer Stunde wurden entweder abgesagt oder verzögert. Ich lebe nicht dort, aber anscheinend habe ich gehört, dass die Züge im Süden schrecklich sind …

A cancelled train is not delayed, and a train late by 5 minutes isn’t late. When you use those statistics, then you get the CFL stats. It’s ridiculous, but the way it is.

People hold public transport to a much higher standard than they do private, I can’t remember the last time I’ve gone to work by car and not had delays and traffic, but when I talk to people who occasionally take the bus they complain about a 10 min delay.
My commute takes ~45 mins door to door no matter how I travel… bus, car or bike. Yet when I talk to locals about the bus they tell me it’s always late. I can’t disagree, it always comes after the stated timetable and always gets me to my stop after it should too, but… it is fairly predictable and is exactly the same as by car (because it’s the car traffic it’s stuck in).
I do wish they’d work on the messaging for public transport though, or, even better, aim for an “every X minutes” service.
10% of the entire year is more late trains than you think. Still a pretty good number compared to other countries.
